USTA/ITA Complete Results
CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- Senior co-captain Jamila Paul wrapped up an impressive series at the USTA/ITA Regional Championships in Harvard, Mass., over the weekend. Paul saw her singles bid come to an end after collecting two wins on Saturday, Oct. 19, and was eliminated in the round of 16 with teammate sophomore Brenna Keller on Sunday, Oct. 20.
Paul won her first match in the main singles brackets with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 decision over Seton Hall’s Chloe Sher. With a win under her belt, Paul moved on to the round of 64 and drew 37th seeded Jacqueline Raynor of Quinnipiac. Paul managed a 7-5, 6-1 over Raynor, but fell short in the third round to Columbia’s Kanikka Vaidya (6-0, 6-1).
In doubles play, Paul and Keller teamed up to score a pair of wins over UConn and UPenn teams on Saturday to advance to the round of 16. The Army duo went up against Dartmouth’s tandem of Katherine Yau and Taylor Ng for a chance to compete in the quarterfinal round. The Black Knights fell the the 25th seeded Dartmouth team in a hard fought 8-4 decision.
The five-day event began Thursday morning and concludes with Tuesday's finals at Harvard’s indoor Murr Tennis Center.
