WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army women's tennis team makes its home debut this weekend as the Black Knights host the West Point Invitational, Friday through Sunday at Malek Courts.

Army's second weekend tournament of the 2012-13 season, the Black Knights are set to host players from Connecticut, Fairleigh Dickinson, Fordham, Lehigh, Quinnipiac, Massachusetts and Stony Brook for the eight-team affair. Play begins on Friday morning and concludes with Sunday's finals of both singles and doubles.

Fans are encouraged to follow @Army_WTennis for real-time updates throughout this weekend's tournament. Full recaps and results will also be available on www.goARMYsports.com at the conclusion of each day.

Army is coming off a strong showing at the Stony Brook Classic last weekend. Senior co-captain Erin Colton and junior Jamila Paul teamed to reach the Flight A doubles final before falling in the title match. Both players also advanced to the semifinals of the Flight A singles bracket before being eliminated on Saturday.

Freshman Kelly Daniel enjoyed a solid collegiate debut, reaching the Flight E singles title match before falling short in the championship. Senior co-captain Larraine Saavedra (Flight C) and freshman Eva Sung (Flight D) reached the semifinals of their respective main draws.

This weekend's weather is calling for sunny skies and mild temperatures, meaning the tournament will be played at Malek Courts (outdoor). Should the weather take a turn for the worse, the tournament will move to the Lichtenberg Tennis Center, Army's state-of-the-art indoor tennis facility.
