Quinnipiac Results Get Acrobat Reader

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The women's tennis team opened its season at both Quinnipiac and Stony Brook this weekend. Both invitationals started play on Friday afternoon and will continue until Sunday night.

On the Stony Brook courts, both singles and doubles play were in action yesterday.Junior Allyson Hayley claimed a 6-3, 6-4, decision in the C flight in the Stony Brook Invitational against Marist's Katie Seitz.

Elle and Della Taylor will advance in the Stony Brook invitational's doubles A flight with a 8-4 victory over Fordham's Elliesa Ball and Sarah Ali. Senior co-captain Jamila Paul and partner Splinder will also move on with by a 8-6 win over Farliegh Dickinson's Ksenija Tihomirova and Nicole Chris. Hayley O'Connonor and Caroline Lorenzini will advance in the B flight for doubles at Stony Brook with a 8-0 win over Wagener and Thompson from Long Island.

For the other half of the Black Knights at the Quinnipiac Invitational, doubles was the feature while singles will start on Saturday. Senior co-captain Margaret Iliev and partner Carloyn Pitman took a 8-2 win over Seton Hall's Gurda and Kaldan in the A flight. Teammates Eva Sung and Carly Riney also advanced in the A flight with a  8-2 victory against DeRienzo and and Post. As for the B flight, Army's Taler Brazell and Kelly Daniel advance with a win over Hartford's Felicia DeMarco and Christie Greenberg.
