WEST POINT, N.Y. - Freshman Carolyn Pitman continued her impressive home debut and remains the only Army player still alive in her respective main draw. Pitman and junior Kari Pope, who advanced through a consolation bracket, return to the court on Sunday morning in their respective final matches of the West Point Invitational at Malek Courts.

Pitman upset second-seeded Cassandra Dix of Stony Brook in the third singles quarterfinals via straight-sets (7-5, 6-0). The West Chester, Ohio, native then met teammate and fellow rookie Gabriella Spindler in Saturday's semifinal match. Pitman outlasted Spindler (4-6, 6-4, 10-8) in a hard-fought, three-set victory. She now faces Massachusetts' Jocelyn Providence in Sunday's third singles final, set to begin at 9 a.m.

After suffering a loss in the opening round of the fourth singles main draw on Friday, Pope dropped to the consolation bracket where she collected a pair of victories and advanced to the consolation final. With wins over Jillian Sloan (Lehigh) and Emilie Burgess (Connecticut), Pope will face Alex Bergman of UConn on Sunday morning.

In doubles action, sophomores Maya Parker and Alyssa Gleason advanced to the Flight A consolation semifinals and will go up against Dina Guzairova and Anna Rapoport of Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday.
