WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army women's tennis team added three more wins to its total and did so in convincing fashion over the weekend, defeating Quinnipiac (6-1), Marist (7-0) and Siena (7-0) at Lichtenberg Tennis Center. The Black Knights improved to 9-3 on the season and extended their win streak to four matches.

Along with improving to 10-1 all-time against Quinnipiac on Saturday, the Black Knights remained unbeaten in 17 meetings with Hudson Valley rival Marist. Army's top doubles team went down in both matches, but the team managed to secure the doubles point in both. All six singles matches against the Bobcats were decided in straight sets with Quinnipiac's lone point coming at No. 4.

Junior Jamila Paul secured a win at the No. 1 singles spot in both matches, bringing her season total to 15 singles wins. Her triumph win against Marist was one of three decided in straight sets. Marist pushed Margaret Iliev and Haley O'Connor to a third set, but both came out victorious in tiebreakers. Eva Sung, Larraine Saavedra and Alyssa Gleason earned wins against the Red Foxes as well.

Sunday's performance was Army's most dominant of the weekend, as the Black Knights crushed Siena in all nine matches. All three doubles matches were decided by identical 8-2 scores, while all six singles matches required just two sets. Freshman Gabriella Spindler picked up her second singles win of the weekend, which upped her season total to a team-best 17 wins.

Despite taking next weekend off for spring break, this marked the team's final tests before the start of Patriot League play. The Black Knights host Rhode Island for a non-conference tilt Friday, March 22, and welcome Patriot League foes Holy Cross and Lafayette on Saturday, March 23. Thirteen-time league champion Army will then begin its quest for an 11th-straight perfect regular season.
