Final Stats

ITHACA, N.Y. - The Army women's tennis team added four singles wins and three doubles victories during Sunday's final day of action at the Cornell Winter Invitational at Reis Tennis Center.

Margaret Iliev, Eva Sung, Haley O'Connor and Della Taylor each registered a win in the singles back draw on Sunday. O'Connor downed Cornell's Kirsten Kohagen in a marathon three-set tiebreaker, while the remaining three each won in straight sets.

In doubles action, O'Connor and Sung advanced to the Flight B main draw finals and were scheduled to face Gabriella Spindler and Larraine Saavedra for the crown. The team did not play out the match. Saavedra and Jamila Paul closed out the weekend on a winning note in doubles, as did Della and Elle Taylor and Iliev and rookie Carolyn Pitman.

The Cornell Winter Invitational marked the Black Knights' final tournament event before the start of dual match play. Army will host Binghamton (3 p.m.) and Sacred Heart (7 p.m.) on Friday before welcoming Seton Hall on Saturday at 11 a.m. All three matches will be played at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center.
