February 26

I am very excited about being asked to give my thoughts about our trip to Georgia this weekend. It is going to be a great experience for all of us on the team, and an especially memorable one for me since it is my final year of Army Softball.

I am looking forward to starting off the season playing Washington, one of the teams that I grew up watching, and I know that all the girls are excited about the weekend. Our team has been working hard during the off season to prepare for this weekend and the upcoming season.

To be one of the teams selected to play in this tournament was quite an honor for all of us. It showed us that all of our hard work these last few years and the hard work of our former teammates, has paid off.

We are starting off our season by playing some of the top teams in the country, what could be better then that? How about being selected to play an exhibition game against the 2004 U.S. Olympic Team! Playing against the Olympic Team this weekend is the next best thing to being on the Olympic Team. In the last two Olympics the U.S. has won the gold medal for softball, so this is our chance to play against the defending world champions. It is such an honor to be able to play on the same field as them.

It will be nice to be able to get outdoors and play on the dirt, instead of in the snow or inside. Everyone on the team is so anxious to be playing games. This weekend, added with our trip to Florida, will give us some great games to help prepare for the regular season games in the Patriot League this year.
