Patriot League Academic Honor Roll Release
WEST POINT, N.Y. - Rising junior Alyssa Strobehnwas among 62 student-athletes named to the 2014 Patriot League's Softball Academic Honor Roll in an announcement by the conference office Thursday morning. It is the second academic honor garnered by Strobehn this spring.
Last month, the Army catcher was among an elite group of 12 student-athletes named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team.
To be eligible for the spring Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's winter or spring championship sports.
It is the second straight year that Strobehn landed on the honor roll after earning a 3.56 GPA during the spring semester. A Mathematical Sciences major from West Valley, Utah, Strobehn was a starter in 45 games this year, mainly as a catcher, and was instrumental in helping the Black Knights earn their fifth straight berth to the Patriot League Tournament.
Strobehn batted .235 as a starter in all 18 Patriot League games along with driving in nine runs and scored four times helping Army post a 9-9 mark. Overall, she batted .207 to include 11 RBI and 12 runs scored. Strobehn was the starter in all three games at the Patriot League Tournament as fourth-seed Army pulled off an opening-round upset of top-seeded Lehigh.
