BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Fourth-seeded Army's 5-1 extra innings win over top-seeded Lehigh in the opening round of the double-elimination Patriot League Tournament advanced the Black Knights into the winners' bracket game where they face No. 2 Boston University Friday at 10:35 a.m. at Kaufman Field.

Army will be looking to post its second straight win at tournament since 2005 when the second-seeded Black Knights opened with a 4-3 win over No. 3 Colgate and defeated No. 4 Bucknell 11-1 in moving into the championship round.

No. 2 Boston University was a 4-3 winner over No. 3 Bucknell in eight innings in Thursday's opening round.

During the regular season, Army denied the Terriers a win in its Patriot League debut behind a 9-3 decision at West Point on March 29 with Caroline Smith going the distance on a five hitter in recording the decision. Only one of three Terrier runs were earned.

Alee Rashenskas, who ripped a pair of doubles, was 4-for-4 with five RBI and scored once. After stranding runners in scoring position in the first inning, Army broke into the scoring column with four runs in the bottom of the second inning and padded it with three in the third to pull out to a 7-0 advantage.

Army erupted for five hits scoring four runs in the second inning keyed by Rashenskas' three-run double off starter Lauren Hynes (7-8).

The Army freshman drove in Rachael Dehlinger and Tyler McKinney, who singled, along with Amanda Nguyen who reached on an error. Nguyen's fielder's choice RBI scored Alyssa Strobehn(2-for-3), who singled, for the first run in the game.

Army was swept by Boston University in the final two games as its rally in the seventh inning in both losses fell short. Hynes pitched Boston University to both wins yielding five hits in a 6-4 win in the first game and threw a four-hitter in a 7-4 nightcap decision in the third game of the series.

A win over Boston University sends Army into Saturday's championship finals while a loss moves the Black Knights into the final game on Friday at 3:35 against the winner of the loser's bracket game between Lehigh and Bucknell.
