WEST POINT, N.Y. - Army women’s basketball will look to capture its first home win of the season on Sunday afternoon when the Black Knights host Penn. Tipoff at Christl Arena is slated for 1 p.m.
Army (2-1) is coming off a 57-52 victory at Fairleigh Dickinson Thursday night for its second road victory of the year. The Black Knights sputtered to a 59-47 loss in their home opener to St. Francis (N.Y.) on Nov. 12, thanks in large part to shooting just 25.8 percent in the game (16-62).
Army shot 30.5 percent (18-59) against the Knights on Thursday night, but connected on just 1-of-18 attempts from three. However, the Black Knights outrebounded their opponent for the third consecutive game, reaching the 50-rebound threshold for the second time this season (50-35). Penn comes to West Point with a 0-2 record after a pair of narrow defeats (60-51 at Norfolk State; 68-65 vs. Virginia).
