WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army women's basketball team will face Navy in a Patriot League contest on Saturday, Jan. 11 at Alumni Hall in Annapolis, Md. The match-up is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

Army Knocks Off Navy 48-40 For Gold Star and Season Sweep
Army women's basketball defeated service academy rival Navy 48-40 in Annapolis, Md., on Saturday afternoon, capturing the Gold Star and earning the Black Knights' first regular-season sweep of the Midshipmen since 2008. Freshman Kelsey Minato totaled a game-high 19 points, including 14 in an impressive second half as Army moves into a first-place tie with Navy in the Patriot League standings. The Gold Star win is Army's first since 2011 and 18th all-time.

Army improved to 11-3 this season with a 74-63 win over Lehigh on Jan. 8. Senior Jen Hazlett netted a season-high 25 points, while matching a career high with 12 rebounds, while sophomore Kelsey Minato scored 17 points to extend her double-digit scoring streak to 30 games. Junior Olivia Schretzman finished with her second-high scoring output of the season, totaling 16 points against the Mountain Hawks.

The game will be broadcast to a national audience on CBS Sports Network. The match-up can also be heard live on the radio on 1340-AM (Middletown) or 1390-AM (Poughkeepsie). Army is 30-30 all-time against Navy. The Black Knights defeated the Midshipmen in both meetings last season, picking up wins of 53-42 (Jan. 20, West Point) and 48-40 (Feb. 16, Annapolis). Magarity is 7-7 against the Midshipmen, including a 5-2 mark in Annapolis.

Army rebounded from a pair of sub-40 percent shooting games by knocking down 48.2 percent of its attempts from the floor in a 74-63 win over Lehigh on Jan. 8. Hazlett finished with a season-best 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting, while controlling a career-high tying 12 rebounds. Minato netted 17 points to raise her double-digit scoring streak to 30 games. Schretzman posted her second-highest scoring output of the season against the Mountain Hawks, totaling 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the floor and a 4-of-4 showing from the free-throw line.

Army will continue its current three-game road trip on Wednesday, Jan. 15, when it heads to Worcester, Mass., for a 7 p.m. contest against Holy Cross.
