WEST POINT, N.Y.  - Army's undefeated mark on its home court remained intact as the Black Knights dispatched Morgan State 73-48 in a women's basketball tilt at Christl Arena on Tuesday night. Four Army players scored in double figures, including a game-high 16 by sophomore Kelsey Minato and a career-best 13 by classmate Brianna Johnson.

Army (6-1) held Morgan State (1-4) without a point for nearly three minutes as the Black Knights opened the game on a 14-2 run. Army maintained a double-digit advantage from the 15:23 mark on, extending its lead to as many as 22 in the first. The Lady Bears got no closer than 11 after Army's initial surge, as MSU's heave at the halftime buzzer came up short and the Black Knights took a 34-21 lead into the break.

The second half started much like the first as Army broke out on a 12-0 burst over the first three minutes, a span in which the Lady Bears committed three turnovers and six fouls. MSU cracked the second-half scoring column after 3:25 of play. Army's eighth-year head coach Dave Magarity shuffled in 13 players, 10 of which scored on the night.

Freshman Danielle Failor led Army's bench-scoring effort with 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting, while junior tri-captain Olivia Schretzman snagged a game-high eight rebounds to go along with eight points. Schretzman's effort helped Army out-rebound MSU, 46-30.

The Black Knights' lead stretched to 27 in the second as Morgan State got no closer than 22 for the rest of the game.

Army limited the Lady Bears to season-low totals for points (48) and shooting percentage (.286). The totals were the lowest by an Army opponent since American tallied 46 points on Feb. 23, 2013, and Navy shot 28.3 percent on Feb. 16, 2013. The Black Knights shot 47.2 percent for the game, their second-best clip of the season as army improved to 5-0 this year when shooting better than 40 percent.

Up next for the Black Knights, Army will begin a three-game road stretch as nonconference play begins to wind down. The Black Knights will travel to Yale on Dec. 7. Army defeated the Bulldogs at Christl Arena last season, 53-47. Yale shows a 3-4 record and will host Bryant on Wednesday prior to its showdown with the Black Knights.
