Director of Basketball Operations

Capt. Lauryn McKelvie was appointed to the Director of Basketball Operations position for the Army Women's Basketball program in June 2014.

A native of Freeland, Mich., McKelvie competed on Army's track and field team for four years. During her senior year, McKelvie served as a team captain, placing second in the 400-meter hurdles event at the 2009 Patriot League Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

McKelvie graduated from West Point with a degree in International Relations on May 23, 2009 before commissioning in the Adjutant General's Corps of the Army. In October 2009, McKelvie was assigned to the 3rd Sustainment Brigade in Fort Stewart, Ga., serving as a Platoon Leader, Operations Officer and Battalion S1.

From June 2010 to June 2011, McKelvie deployed to Kuwait, where she assisted in the support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn.

In January 2014, McKelvie attended the Adjutant General Captain's Career Course in Fort Jackson, S.C., before completing the course in May 2014.
