WEST POINT, N.Y. - Army wrestling senior Tyler Rauenzahn was selected as one of two honorees for the 2013-14 Lt. Gen. Harold "Hal" G. Moore Warrior Athlete of Excellence Award during a presentation last Wednesday in West Point's Department of Physical Education Projection Room. Rauenzahn's classmate Katie Loss was also awarded at the ceremony.

The award is named in honor of Lt. Gen. Moore, a 1945 graduate of West Point, who led a battalion of 450 soldiers to victory over more than 2,000 North Vietnamese Regulars during the first major battle of the Vietnam War in November of 1965.

This year marks the second presentation of the award, which is presented annually to "one male and female First Class cadet that best exemplifies the qualities of LTG Moore (mental toughness, perseverance, winning spirit, and humility) and the tenets of the warrior ethos in competitive sports and the Department of Physical Education (DPE) combative programs."
