Army (7-5, 4-1 EIWA) is coming off a fourth-place finish at last weekend's All-Academy Championships in Colorado Springs, Colo. Senior Derek Stanley (197 pounds) and freshman Cole Gracey (165) each won individual titles at their respective weight classes to pace the Black Knights.
Senior Michael Gorman (184 pounds), junior Jordan Thome (133) and sophomore Ryan Bilyeu (149) added runner-up finishes in helping Army place within the top half of the eight-team field at last weekend's All-Academy Championships.
Senior co-captain Jimmy Rafferty and Thome are tied for the team lead with 22 wins apiece. Rafferty also paces the Black Knights with a 9-3 mark in dual matches. Thome, who boasts a 22-8 overall record this season, leads the team with 10 pins and 11 bonus-point victories.
Gracey, who has won his last 12 bouts, ranks among Army's leaders in wins (19), dual victories (seven), pins (six), major decisions (three) and bonus-point wins (10). Fellow freshman Scott Filbert (125 pounds) lists tied for second on the team with six pins, ranks fourth on the squad with 18 wins and stands third with eight bonus-point victories.
Gorman, meanwhile, has won eight of his last 11 bouts to move into fifth place on Army's wins list (17). He is tied with Gracey for the team lead in major decisions (three), while listing among the Black Knights' leaders with six bonus-point victories.
Bucknell (3-14, 2-2 EIWA) has lost three straight dual matches and nine of its last 10 dating back to mid-December. Four of those setbacks came to nationally-ranked foes.
The Bison are led by freshman 125-pounder Austin Miller, who carries a 16-11 overall record into Tuesday's showdown. Senior John Regan (157 pounds) and sophomore Stephen McPeek (174) list tied for second on the team with 15 wins apiece.
Army and Bucknell have met 10 times previously, and the Black Knights own a commanding 8-2 advantage in the all-time series. The Bison have won the last two matchups, however, including a 25-12 decision last season in Lewisburg, Pa.
Following Tuesday night's match, Army will have more than a week to prepare for the annual Star Match versus arch-rival Navy (Feb. 17). The Navy dual will serve as Army's final tune-up before competing at the EIWA Championships (March 3-4).
