WEST POINT, N.Y. - Fresh off a 10th-place showing at the Southern Scuffle, the Army wrestling team will travel to Hampton, Va., to compete at the 33rd annual Virginia Duals this weekend.

The two-day event, which will be contested inside the Hampton Coliseum, gets under way on Friday, Jan. 11, and runs through Saturday, Jan. 12. Army will open the tournament versus third-seeded Edinboro at 11 a.m. on Friday. The Black Knights will then battle either The Citadel or Old Dominion at 3 p.m. on Friday.

The remainder of Army's schedule, which will include at least two more matches on Saturday, will be determined by how the Black Knights fare in their first two contests.

Other teams at the tournament include Central Michigan, Virginia Tech, Arizona State, Boise State, Virginia, Kent State and EIWA rival Bucknell.

The Black Knights are 2-2 in dual matches this season, having knocked off Binghamton and Drexel. Army has not wrestled in a dual since defeating the Dragons on Dec. 6.

Army senior 141-pounder Connor Hanafee went 7-2 en route to a fifth-place finish at the Southern Scuffle last week. Senior 133-pounder Jordan Thome, meanwhile, wrestled to a seventh-place showing at the prestigious tournament.

Junior Paul Hancock continues to lead Army with a 17-7 overall record this season. The 165-pounder, who boasts a perfect 4-0 mark in dual matches, ranks among the team leaders with three pins and four major decisions.

Senior 184-pounder Collin Wittmeyer, who ranks second on the team with 15 wins, leads the Black Knights with five major decisions.

Following this weekend's event, the Black Knights will travel to Lewisburg, Pa., to face EIWA rival Bucknell on Saturday, Jan. 19.
