WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army men’s tennis will compete on its home courts for the first time this fall when the Black Knights host Boston College, St. Bonaventure and Yale in the West Point Fall Quad this Saturday and Sunday. Teams will circle through, playing each other in both singles and doubles matches in a round-robin style invitational. Army-BC singles matches will kick off the weekend on Saturday at 9 a.m. at Malek Courts.
Weather-permitting, matches will be played at Army’s outdoor courts at Malek. Indoor courts are also available at Lichtenberg Tennis Center, the home of Army Tennis.
Army last competed at the ITA Men’s All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., Sept. 28-Oct. 1. The Black Knights played four singles matches in the Prequalifying Draw, while an Army duo got a shot in the Qualifying Draw of the doubles tournament. Senior Asika Isoh, sophomores Harrison McCormick and Caison Best, and freshman Sam Lampman traveled for the Black Knights, as Isoh and McCormick were the lone doubles team to compete.
The Black Knights last hosted a fall tournament in 2010 when Yale and St. Bonaventure came to town. This season’s Fall Quad is Army’s lone home event prior to dual-match play in the spring. Following this weekend, Army will play at the ITA Regional Championships in New Haven, Conn., Oct. 16-22.
