Army Opens Dual Match Slate This Weekend

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army men's tennis team will begin their 2013-14 dual match schedule with a pair of home contests this weekend. The Black Knights host Monmouth on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 1 p.m. before welcoming Niagara on Sunday, Feb. 2 at noon. Both matches will take place at Lichtenberg Tennis Center.

Back-to-back Patriot League Player of the Year, Asika Isoh returns for his senior season after going 14-5 from the No. 1 position in singles matches a year ago. Among the Black Knights' other returners are sophomore Harrison McCormick, who went 15-4 in duals last year, junior Peter Sienko (10-5) and sophomore Caison Best(9-11).

Monmouth enters the weekend 0-2 overall in dual matches, after suffering defeats to Columbia and Lehigh. Sophomore Jason Prezant and freshmen Luke Adamus, Przemyslaw Filipek and Christian Vieira all have one win for the Hawks.

Niagara posted a 14-10 record a season ago, and will compete in its first dual match of 2013-14 on Sunday. Top returners for the Purple Eagles include senior Olivier Dufour-Coursol (19-5) and junior David Raymond (12-10).

Army is 13-0 in its all-time series with Monmouth, and will compete against Niagara for the first time.

The Black Knights will return to the court on Saturday, Feb. 8 to host Stony Brook (9 a.m.) and Connecticut (4 p.m.).
