WEST POINT, N.Y. - The New Jersey Institute of Technology claimed a 4-3 win over the Army men's tennis team to end the Black Knights' eight-match winning streak on Thursday afternoon at the Malek Tennis Courts. The Black Knights slip to 16-5 with the loss, while the Highlanders improve to 12-5.

Army took an early lead after wrapping up the doubles point to begin the match. Freshman Sam Lampman and Grant Riechmann managed an 8-7 (7-3) win at the No. 1 doubles spot, while seniors Asika Isoh and Henry Jang-Milsten notched an 8-5 victory at No. 2. NJIT's No. 3 tandem of Arnaud Holl and Markus Schultz claimed an 8-2 decision.

The team's split the first four singles contests, with Lampman and classmate Kyle Barnes winning for the Black Knights at No. 1 and No. 5, respectively, while Holl (No. 6) and Andres Alban (No. 3) grabbed wins for the visitors. NJIT's Erik Artursson outlasted Army junior Peter Sienko in a closely contested second set to take a 6-2, 7-6 win in the fourth position before Schultz came from behind to defeat Riechmann, 1-6, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 2.

Army honored Isoh, Jang-Milsten, Joshua Cook, Chad Llewellyn and Rommel Verano in a Senior Day ceremony prior to the match.

The Black Knights will hit the road to face Boston University in their regular-season finale on Saturday, April 19 at 11 a.m. The match will determine the Patriot League's regular season champion, as both schools enter the weekend with perfect conference records.
