The Army sprint football team will be on the road for the second week in a row, as it is set to take on Cornell on Friday, Oct. 4, for a 7 p.m. Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) tilt. The contest falls in the middle of the Black Knights' current three-game road trip.

Undefeated Sprint Football Tops Cornell 38-14 in Home Opener
Army sprint football defeated conference rival Cornell, 38-14, in its home opener in front of packed stands at Shea Stadium. The undefeated Black Knights (4-0, 3-0 CSFL) faced their most competitive opponent to date in the Big Red (3-1, 2-1 CSFL), and responded by totaling nearly 500 yards of offense.
In its latest contest, Army (3-0, 3-0 CSFL) earned a 41-12 victory at Franklin Pierce on Saturday, Sept. 28. Junior quarterback James Wartski
has thrown for a CSFL-leading 805 yards and nine touchdowns while tossing just one interception. Freshman running back Marqus Burrell
paces the Black Knights with 197 yards rushing and has three touchdowns, and sophomore receiver Tucker Van Dyke
leads the squad with 11 receptions while also notching 213 yards and a score.
On defense, seniors Jake Steckler and Patrick Franco lead the way with 25.0 and 24.0 tackles, respectively, while senior John Egan and sophomore Kalaukoa Labonta each have a pair of interceptions.
Cornell (0-3, 0-3) is paced offensively by senior quarterback Brendan Miller (369 yards passing, 2 touchdowns), while freshman back Kevin Nathanson leads the team with 116 yards on the ground. Senior receiver Spenser Gruenenfelder has a team-best 200 yards receiving, and sophomore Jino Park is the Big Red's top tackler with 19 stops.
Army and Cornell will meet for the 71st time on Friday, with the Black Knights holding a 54-16 advantage in the all-time series. The teams last played in 2012, when Army won a 38-14 decision at West Point.
After Friday's contest, the Black Knights will play their final road game of 2013, as they travel to Mansfield on Saturday, Oct. 12. Army earned a 52-6 victory over the Mountaineers in last season's meeting.
