WEST POINT, N.Y. - Army sprint football will host its fourth annual Alumni Weekend August 23-25, at West Point. The scheduled events include a golf outing, dinner, alumni game with post-game cookout, and other activities.
“This event continues to get bigger and better every year,” says current Army head coach Mark West. “Our alumni mean an awful lot to our program. They represent excellence in all they do and it’s a great opportunity for our cadet-athletes to witness that first-hand.”
A record-number 30 former players have signed up to compete in this year’s alumni game. Attendees this year include former first-team all-conference player Lt. Gen. Tom Bostic (USMA ’78), who is the Commander of the Corp of Engineers, and former all-league defensive back Bill Murdy (USMA ’64), a successful CEO and Founder of the Thayer Leader Development Center.
Another notable guest is former head coach Bob Thompson, who won nine league championships between 1986 and 1996 while at the helm of the then 150-pound football team.
