WEST POINT, N.Y. - Army freshman back Tanner Vosvick was recognized as the Patriot League's Rookie of the Week for the second time in a row on Monday. The accolade marks Vosvick's second conference honor of the season and the Black Knights' fifth Rookie of the Week award. Junior goalkeeper Winston Boldt was tabbed as a league honorable mention selection for the second consecutive week.

Vosvick scored on a penalty kick in the 77th minute before recording the primary assist on freshman midfielder Alex Jaroscak's game-winning goal in Army's 2-1 overtime win against American on Saturday, Oct. 19. The penalty was Vosvick's second in as many games, as he converted the game winner in the Black Knights' 1-0 win at Loyola on Oct. 12.

Through 12 games, Vosvick is tied for the team lead with six points (two goals, two assists), and has contributed to Army's national defensive rankings, as the Black Knights lead the country in save percentage (.909) and are third in goals against average (.480).

Boldt equaled his season high of seven saves during Army's win over American, surrendering only one goal that came on a penalty shot in the 54th minute. Five of Boldt's saves came in the second half, including three important stops in the final 7:47 of regulation to prevent the Eagles from knocking home the equalizer.

Boldt's nine shutouts on the year lead the nation, and put him in a three-way tie atop Army's all-time shutouts list with Frank Oprandy '89 and Lucas Rice '93.

With its win on Saturday, Army (10-1-1, 5-0-0 PL) tied the 1975 squad for the best start in program history, while posting a 5-0-0 Patriot League record for the first time since joining the conference in 1990.

The Black Knights, who currently stand seventh in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Mid-Atlantic Region poll, are back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 22, when they hit the road to face a Central Connecticut State side ranked eighth in the NSCAA North Atlantic Region. The non-conference match is slated for 7 p.m.
