WEST POINT, N.Y. -
Army freshman back Alex Jaroscak was recognized as the Patriot League's Rookie of the Week for the week ending Oct. 6. The accolade marks Jaroscak's first-career conference honor.
Jaroscak recorded a goal and an assist in Army's 3-2 double-overtime victory against Boston University on Saturday, Oct. 5. The freshman assisted on classmate Christian Ollen's goal in the 83rd minute to pull the Black Knights back to a 2-1 deficit. Jaroscak added his first-college goal in the 103rd minute during double overtime to seal the victory and keep Army unbeaten in Patriot League play.
The Black Knights, who are ranked seventh in the most recent National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Mid-Atlantic Region poll, currently stand 7-1-1 overall and 2-0-0 in the Patriot League. Army is off to its best start since 1975 when it opened 8-1-0, and has a 2-0-0 league record for the first time since 1996.
