Drew Hoffman returns for his sixth season with the Army soccer program. Hoffman, who joined the Army soccer staff in April 2000, spent the previous four years (1996-1999) coaching soccer at his alma mater, West Chester University.

Hoffman broke into the collegiate coaching ranks as an assistant coach at Division II West Chester following a stellar four-year career under head coach Kendall Walkes. He served in that capacity for three years before being named the school's interim women's soccer coach in 1999.

Hoffman met instant success as he directed the women's program to its first national ranking along with reaching the PSAC finals for the first time in school history. His Golden Rams tied the school record for wins (15) and recorded their best-ever mark in the PSAC (8-2). Hoffman's team ranked as high as 21st nationally and third in the Northeast Region.

During his playing days at West Chester, where he earned a bachelor's degree in social work in 1997, Hoffman helped lead the Golden Rams to a school-record 14 wins in 1994 and the semifinals of the ECAC tournament. West Chester ranked as high as fourth regionally that year and fifth the following year.

In addition to his pursuits at Army, Hoffman is also the head boys' trainer for the Hudson Valley Youth Soccer League Select Program. He is also working with the Eastern New York Olympic Development Program (ODP).

Hoffman was involved with the Eastern Pennsylvania ODP from 1997-2000. He was an assistant coach for the Under-15 boys' team that qualified for the inaugural national championship. Before that, Hoffman was an integral part of the Delaware ODP.

Hoffman, who holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) "A" license in coaching, attained his master's degree in education counseling from C.W. Post in April 2002.

In 2003, Hoffman completed the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's (NSCAA) Advanced National Diploma course and in 2004 he passed the NSCAA's Premier Diploma Course, with distinction.

Hoffman, 31, is married to the former Jessica Fichera of Washingtonville, N.Y. The couple now resides in Newburgh, N.Y.
