WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army lacrosse team will host Penn State for an 11 a.m. scrimmage this Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Foley Athletic Center. Due to safety concerns within the state-of-the-art indoor facility, the scrimmage will be closed to the public.
Saturday marks three weeks until the Black Knights lift the lid on the 2013 season. Army visits Massachusetts, which finished last season ranked in the top 10 of both national polls, on Feb. 9 for the opener for both teams.
Penn State comes to West Point recently tabbed No. 16 by Inside Lacrosse's Face-Off Yearbook. The Nittany Lions posted a 9-6 record a year ago and advanced to the Colonial Athletic Association semifinals.
Army, preseason No. 29 according to Face-Off Yearbook, returns its top two scorers from a year ago in preseason All-America selections Garrett Thul and John Glesener, while also welcoming back one of the top close defenders in the country in Brendan Buckley.
