WEST POINT, N.Y. - Fans at Tate Rink and those watching online or on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel were treated to quite a goal last Saturday night against Air Force as sophomore Joe Kozlak found rookie Clint Carlisle in-stride, who made a nifty move to nab the team's first short-handed goal of the season. The effort earned the Black Knights the NCAA's third-best Play of the Week.
In addition to its visual appeal, the timely goal came 49 seconds into the second period and gave Army a 2-0 lead.
This is the second time the Black Knights have been recognized on the NCAA's Top 5 Plays of the Week. On Dec. 10, 2013, against Canisius, Carlisle assisted sophomore Christian Pomarico with a no-look pass to earn the No. 3 spot that week.
Army dropped Friday night's game, but rebounded to record a 2-0 shutout of the Golden Griffins on Saturday at Tate Rink.
The Black Knights hit the road for their next six games, beginning with an AHA weekend series at RIT, Jan. 17 and 18, in Rochester, N.Y. Both games will air live on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel (channel 461 in the Hudson Valley), as well as be shown online via America ONE Sports. Fans can also listen to the Army call on Knight Vision through www.goARMYsports.com. Subscription fees apply for both online offerings. For those fans living in the Hudson Valley, the games will be aired live on 1340 WALL-AM and 1380 WEOK-AM. Scoring updates will be available on Twitter by following @Army_Hockey.
