WEST POINT, N.Y. - Senior Garrek Hojan-Clark was named the College Gymnastics Association NCAA Collegiate Division Gymnast of the Week following his winning performance on pommel horse over the weekend against No. 4 Penn State. It is the second certificate this week earned by the native of Brookfield, Wis., chosen the Army Athletic Association Athlete of the Week on Monday, but first at the national level.

It is just the third time that an Army gymnast has won weekly national honors. Hojan-Clark joins teammate Kip Webber, who earned this award in 2011, and former gymnast Mike Assenmacher, selected in 2008.

Hojan-Clark, currently ranked No. 1 nationally on pommel horse in GymInfo's first poll of the season, was among nine gymnasts nominated, to include Army freshman Jesse Glenn, in a voting that consists of 17 active college coaches and 35 CGA Honorary Lifetime members and seven major club programs. Glenn is currently ranked No. 3 in all-around with an 82.55 following his winning performance in the Penn State meet .

In Saturday's season opener at Penn State, Hojan-Clark edged Felix Aronovich for medalist honors with his meet-high 15.4 that tied his own school record he set last year. His win denied the Nittany Lions from sweeping medalist honors in all six events.

The Black Knights, ranked No. 13 in the NCAA Gymnastics preseason poll, head to No. 11 Air ForceSaturday to take on the Falcons in a dual match that begins at 3 p.m. ET at the Cadet West Gym. Army will be looking for its first win over its service-academy rival since 2007.
