The big weekend is finally upon us. Our teams are all set, and we have been playing together all week in matches against each other. When we play Navy at home, we will play Ryder Cup style with 4-ball matches on the first day and then singles matches will be played on Sunday. There are four team matches on Saturday and seven singles matches on Sunday. We are ready, and hopefully we can earn the star. While none of us have had the experience of beating Navy in the Star Match, I know that it may sound like a cliché, but I would really like to win this one for the seniors. They have gone four years without beating Navy. They are my best friends here at the academy, and I would really like them to have that experience before they graduate.

Granted, we beat Navy by 21 at the Service Academy Classic in Dallas, but we are going into the match this year with the mindset that we are the underdogs since Navy has won the past six years. They just seem to make all the putts and hit all the right shots even though we may think that we are a better team. This year we have a completely different strategy in regards to our team pairings. We are definitely going to be ready this year. I am really looking forward to it.

This weekend, whether we like it or not, is going to determine how we go into the off-season. We have had a very good fall so far, and we're in a very good spot in the district going into the spring. But if we don't beat Navy this weekend, then it is going to be an even grayer winter then it normally is here at West Point.
