JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. – Fresh off a head-to-head victory over arch-rival Navy and a first-place finish at the Stars & Stripes Invitational, the Army golf team travels to the three-day, 54-hole Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate hosted by East Tennessee State. The tournament will be played at the Blackthorn Club at The Ridges.
The Black Knights’ competitors will include Marcus Plunkett, Justin Pagila, Eric Peng, Robby Hill and Peter Kim. Plunkett has earned the last two Army Athletic Association Athlete of the Week awards after scoring two victories versus the Mids and claiming individual medalist honors at the Stars & Stripes. Peng and Pagila are coming off top-10 finishes at last week’s event, both shooting one round of three-under par.
Other teams participating in this weekend’s event are Coastal Carolina, East Tennessee State, Furman, Kent State, Memphis, Missouri, Penn State, Tennessee, Villanova, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and UNC Wilmington.
For Friday’s first round and Saturday’s second round, the 14 teams will all start at the first hole with the initial group teeing off at 8:30 a.m. Sunday’s final round will split the field with half starting on No. 1 and the other half beginning on No. 10. The Blackthorn Club is set up at par-72 and will play 7,147 yards.

After this weekend’s event, the Black Knights have one event remaining on the fall schedule. Army will play at the SCVB Pacific Invitational at the Stockton Country Club in Stockton, Calif. Oct. 31-Nov. 2.
