WEST POINT, N.Y. - Senior golfer Robby Hill was named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar for the 2013-14 season, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced last week.
To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I and have a minimum cumulative 3.2 GPA.
Hill competed in 10 tournaments, posting a career best 74.89 scoring average, while also winning two crucial points in Army's win over Navy.
"We could not be more proud of Robby and can't think of many that are more deserving of this honor," Head Coach Brian Watts said. "He epitomizes the traits you want in a West Point cadet and has served as a great leader of our team. He was an integral part of the team's success in his role as captain and he was able to continually demonstrate his leadership capability. His work ethic is unmatched and he brings out the best in his teammates and coaches. We look forward to another great season with him and can't wait to see what his future will bring."
The Systems Management major from Springfield Ill., begins his senior campaign after a summer leadership experience as a Platoon Leader and CTLT at the National Training Center and Fort Lewis.
The Black Knights will start their season September 6-7 at the Colgate Invitational.
