CENTER VALLEY, PA. - Three members of the Army golf team were named to the All-Patriot League first and second teams in an announcement by league officials today. Senior Austin Luher and sophomore Joey Cave both finished in the top five in the individual competition at the Patriot League Championship and earned spots on the all-league first team, while sophomore Patrick Beverly was named to the second team for finishing in the top ten.
Luher turned in the finest performance of his Black Knight career, finishing in second place after registering a score of 220 in the 54-hole competition. Cave tied for third overall with a combined score of 222. Luher and Cave both netted their second all-league selection (2005).
Beverly, who tied for eighth, tallied a three-round total 229. This was Beverly's second all-league selection after also being named to the second team in 2005.
The Black Knights have one regular-season tournament remaining on their spring slate. Army will participate in the Cleveland Golf/Rhode Island Tournament in Portsmouth, R.I., this weekend.
