Army Tabbed Third In League Golf Poll

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army golf team has been picked to finish third, the Patriot League announced on Thursday when it released its annual preseason poll.

Each head coach and sports information director voted in the poll but were unable to choose their own teams.

Army finished third at last year's Patriot League Tournament at the West Point Golf Course but did not get any first-place votes in this year's poll.

Bucknell was forecasted to finish first and had nine first-place votes while Navy had the other five first-place votes and was picked second.

Lehigh is the fourth choices, followed by Colgate, Lafayette and Holy Cross.

The Army golf team will begin its spring season Monday and Tuesday in Pauma Valley, Calif., at the USF Triumph. The 13-team event will feature 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday.
