MALVERN, Pa.   – Army shot its best round of the tournament and placed 10th at the Wildcat Invitational, Tuesday at White Manor Country Club.

The Black Knights posted rounds of 309-315-306 for a 54-hole total of 930 at the 13-team event.

Marcus Plunkett paced Army, shooting a final-round 73 to finish eighth. Robby Hill tied for 46th, followed by Harrison Florence (tied for 48th), Anthony Kim (tied for 56th) and Brandon Roberts (tied for 62nd).

Temple fired a 900 to win the team championship at the par-71, 7,055-yard layout, edging Rhode Island by three strokes and Villanova and Georgetown by five. Delaware was fifth (907).

Braden Shattuck of Delaware won the event with a one-over-par 214, three strokes in front of Villanova’s Steve Skurla.

Plunkett got off to a great start, shooting a four-over-par 75 in his opening round. He posted two birdies in his round, including a 2 on the par-3, 217-yard 14th hole. Plunkett shot a 76 in his second round with one birdie on the par-4, 330-yard 15th hole.  On Tuesday, Plunkett collected two more birdies – at the par-4 seventh and par-5 11th -- and 12 pars to post a 73 and move into the top-10.

Florence began his tournament with a 79 but shaved three strokes off in his second round with a 76. He posted two birdies in his first 36 holes and closed with an 82.

Hill had two birdies in his first round, both of the back side during a 77. He had one in the afternoon during his 81. He birdied the par-4 18th hole during his final round 78.

Roberts shot 81 and 82 in his first two rounds of the tournament and wrapped up play with an 80. Kim shot a 78 in his initial round and an 86 in his second before rebounding for a final-round 75.

Army has a busy April with four more events scheduled. The Black Knights will compete at the Lafayette Invitational April 7 and 8 at Northampton Country Club in Easton, Pa., and then travel to Farmville, Va., for the Manor Intercollegiate April 12 and 13. The Last Chance Classic will be held at West Point Golf Course April 14 and the Patriot League Championships are set for Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pa., April 27-28.
