Richard Brazeau, a former golfer and coach at Seton Hall, begins his second season as an assistant at West Point. He joined coach Brian Watts' staff in January 2012.
At Army, Brazeau is charged with recruiting, practice plans and course management.
Prior to his arrival at West Point, Brazeau spent three seasons coaching at Seton Hall, his alma mater, where he was a four-year letterwinner and two-time team captain.
"Coach B has an outstanding addition to our staff," said Watts. "Not only was he a competitive Division I golfer, he spent time as a teaching professional, and has a track record of successful recruiting. He has stepped right in and helped make our guys better."
A 2008 graduate of Seton Hall, Brazeau was a two-time BIG EAST Academic All-Star who earned his bachelor's degree in Business with a concentration in Sports Management. He also holds an MBA with a concentration in International Business from Seton Hall as well.
Following his undergraduate graduation, Brazeau worked as an assistant golf professional at Portsmouth Country Club in Portsmouth, N.H., where he ran camps, clinic and tournaments and provided instruction to golfers of all levels.
Brazeau moved on to the American Junior Golf Association as an intern in the operations department where his responsibilities included executing tournaments, course set up, rules management and organization of events.
He got his start in coaching at Seton Hall when he joined the staff in 2009. At Seton Hall, he was responsible for fund raising, recruiting, travel, practice and on course instruction.
Brazeau and his fiancé Lizzie will be married in December, 2013. The couple resides in Montclair, N.J.
