PHILADELPHIA - It is less than a week from the Army-Navy Game presented by USAA and fans will have a multitude of ways to participate, interact and follow the action thanks to new robust Social Media offerings.
Beginning with on-line chats with current and former players and ending with the presentation of the Commander in Chiefs trophy, unprecedented coverage of the game and the surrounding activities will be offered.
On-line chats featuring current and former players from both Army and Navy will be held Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and will be housed on Army's (goARMYsports.com), Navy's (navyathletics.com), the armynavygame.com and at tumblr.com/armynavygame depending on the guest. Army's chats will not be offered on Navy's site and vice versa.
Also on Monday, the winner of the Spirit Video contest will be announced. Fans had the opportunity to submit their spirit videos and fans voted on the official Army-Navy Game Facebook page to determine the winner for each academy. Each of the winners received two tickets, two on-field passes and parking.
On Wednesday, the 10-day scavenger hunt being held in Philadelphia will conclude. The winner of four tickets will be announced on Thursday.
The Patriot Games will get underway Friday, with five events scheduled for competition between Cadets and Midshipmen. Real-time coveragse will begin in the morning and run throughout the day.
On Saturday, a scavenger hunt will be held inside HeadHouse Plaza and Lincoln Financial Field. Fans are encouraged to stop by the Army-Navy Social Media Center inside HeadHouse Plaza to join the conversation on Twitter and Facebook.
Fans are encouraged to use the hashtag #ArmyNavy to participate.
Following the game, flip-cam coverage of the many events surrounding the game will be provided by players, cadets and midshipmen as well as fans that submit clips.
Facebook albums and Pinterest boards will be built during the game as well with fans encouraged to submit their photos for inclusion throughout the day. Fans can interact at @Army_Navy_Game as well.
