DALLAS, Texas - Army's match up with the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs on Sept. 28, 2013 will be played at Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas. The game will be the headline event of the newly created Heart of Dallas Kickoff Classic.
The contest was originally scheduled to be played at Joe Aillet Stadium in Ruston, La. Louisiana Tech will remain as the designated home team. Conference USA officials are currently negotiating national television coverage for the game.
The Black Knights and Bulldogs have met once before on the gridiron. Army scored a 14-7 victory at Michie Stadium on Oct. 25, 2008.
Army has never played in historic Cotton Bowl Stadium. The Black Knights' last trip to Texas was their 16-13 victory over SMU in the 2010 Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl at Gerald Ford Stadium in Dallas. The Black Knights are 7-11 all-time in games played in the Lone Star State.
The Heart of Dallas is a new non-profit group based in Dallas that became the title sponsor of the former TicketCity Bowl. The game will take place during the opening weekend of the State Fair of Texas. Individuals purchasing a ticket to the game will receive free admission to the fair on the day of the game.
