HOUSTON, Texas – Army senior offensive lineman Steve Shumaker is among the players on the watch list for the Rotary Lombardi Award, it was announced Monday.
Shumaker, from Milford, Conn., has appeared in 26 games over his career, including 23 starts. He was announced with the starting lineup in all 12 games last season with 12 starts as a sophomore at right guard. Shumaker made his collegiate debut as a freshman and appeared in three games.
For more than 40 years, the Rotary Lombardi Award has been presented annually to the nation’s best Division I college football lineman (offense or defense) who, in addition to outstanding performance and ability, best exemplifies the discipline of Vince Lombardi. Head coaches of NCAA FBS teams, all former winners and finalists of the Lombardi Award, and selected members of the national sports media make up the electorate that decides the award winner.
Shumaker is one of 48 offensive linemen on the list which includes 123 names.
Army will open its 2014 season at historic Michie Stadium against Buffalo on Sept. 6, its first under head coach Jeff Monken.
Single-game and season tickets are now on sale. Army will welcome Buffalo, Ball State, Rice, Air Force and Fordham to historic Michie Stadium this year. The Black Knights will also play Connecticut at Yankee Stadium.

Single game tickets are available for just $32 for the Buffalo contest. The Rice game is priced at $35, while Ball State and Fordham tickets are $49. Air Force tickets start at $50. Tickets for the game at Yankee Stadium start at $30.
Season tickets are also available with prices beginning at $116 for the spirit zone. Sideline, end zone and upper level seats are available for just $187.
Three-game mini plans are also offered with prices ranging from $91-$113 depending on which games fans select.
Fans will also have the option to purchase parking in advance for $15. Parking is $20 on gameday.
