ARMY POSTGAME NOTES (AT RUTGERS, NOV. 10, 2012)
► Army suffered its ninth straight loss against Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights now hold a 21-18 lead in the all-time series.
► The Black Knights have not won in Piscataway since 1972, losing all four games played on Rutgers' campus since.
► Army has dropped 12 straight games played away from West Point.
► The Black Knights dropped their 15th straight against teams from the Big East Conference.
► Army has not defeated a ranked team since 1972 (Air Force). Saturday was Army's 13th game against a ranked opponent since 1995.
► The Black Knights were on the short end of a 2-1 turnover margin. Army is now 4-21 since the start of 2009 when losing the turnover battle.
► Army was held below 300 rushing yards for just the third time this season. The Black Knights had rushed for at least 300 yards in its previous five games.
► Army's 16-play touchdown drive on the opening possession was the Black Knights' longest drive in terms of plays on the season. The Black Knights had two 13-play touchdown drives previously.
► Senior QB Trent Steelman ran for 102 yards to become the third Army player to reach 3,000 yards during his career. Steelman ranks third at West Point with 3,085 career rushing yards.
► Steelman now ranks tied for second all-time at Army with 11 100-yard rushing games.
► Steelman's 102 yards increased his season total to 1,013. He is now tied for 14th on the Army single-season ledger. Steelman is just 66 yards shy of Army's single-season quarterback rushing record.
► Junior FB Hayden Tippett's reception in the fourth quarter was the first of his career.
► Army forced a punt on Rutgers' first possession. It was just the third time this season that the Black Knights did not allow a touchdown in their opponent's opening drive.
► Junior DL Holt Zalneraitis shard a quarterback sacks with sophomore DL Colin Linkul. It was Zalneraitis' first career sack.
SPECIAL TEAMS NOTES
► Freshman K Daniel Grochowski had his first two field goal attempts blocked. It was the first time the Black Knights had a field goal blocked since the Hawai'I game on Sept. 11, 2010.
► Senior Josh Jackson's 34-yard punt return was Army's longest of the season and his longest since a 37-yard return against North Texas in 2010.
