WEST POINT, N.Y. - Sophomore men's basketball player Josh Herbeck has been named the Army Athletic Association Athlete of the Week following his performances in the Black Knights' two games last week.

Herbeck averaged 18.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game as the Black Knights split a pair of games, defeating Bryant and losing to Yale. In the win over the Bulldogs, the Ann Arbor, Mich., native stroked seven three-pointers en route to a career-high 21 points. It was the most threes by an Army player since Jarell Brown tied the Academy record with nine against Brown on Jan. 2, 2008. He also pulled down a career-high six rebounds. Herbeck followed his career night against Bryant with 16 points and five rebounds versus Yale. He added four more three-pointers to his total.

In his 35 career games, Herbeck has made 55 three-pointers and already ranks 22nd on the Black Knights' all-time list. Herbeck's 2.8 three-pointers per game this season is the third best average in the Patriot League.

Army is back in action on Wednesday, Nov. 30 versus NJIT. Tip-off at Christl Arena is set for 7 p.m.
