► Army plays its first home game on Friday afternoon when it host the Binghamton Bearcats at Christl Arean. The Black Knights started the season by splitting a pair of games at the 2012 Army ROTC All-Military Classic hosted by The Citadel. Army lost its season opener against Air Force, but rebounded to defeat VMI in its last game.
► Senior forward Ella Ellis led the Black Knights through the first two games, averaging 17.5 points and 4.5 rebounds. The preseason All-Patriot League pick scored 16 against the Falcons and 19 in the win over the Keydets. He also blocked a career-high three shots in Sunday’s victory.
► Army has won four straight home openers and owns a four-game winning streak in non-conference games played on the banks of the Hudson.
► Of the 13 players that have seen action through the first two games, nine are freshmen and sophomores, including seven rookies that will be making their home debut on Friday.
► Kyle Wilson has been the highest-scoring of the newcomers. Wilson scored 10 points in his colegiate debut against Air Force and followed that with nine points against VMI. Wilson is third on the team with three three-pointers, but is shooting at a 42.9 percent clip from long range in the early going.
► Plebe point guard Dylan Cox and freshman power forward Tanner Plomb have each started the first two games. Cox has scored 5.5 points per game and handed out three assists with only two turnovers. Plomb is averaging 5.0 points and 3.5 rebounds through two games.
► Junior guard Josh Herbeck and Ellis have each made five three-pointers through two games. The duo led the team last year with Herbeck drilling 75 triples and leading the Patriot League with 40 three-pointers during conference games. Ellis is eighth all-time at Army with 126 three-pointers, while Herbeck is right behind in ninth position with 118 career triples.
► Army’s 80-74 win over VMI marked the Black Knights’ fifth straight victory when scoring at least 80 points.
