CENTER VALLEY, Pa.  – Army sophomore forward Kyle Wilson has been named the Patriot League Anaconda Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for his performance in the Black Knights’ last two games. Wilson averaged 24.0 points per game to lead Army to a 1-1 week.

The Mission Viejo, Calif., native shot 46.9 percent overall and 42.9 percent from three-point range in Army’s two games. He averaged 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 1.5 assists per game.

Wilson started the week with 23 points, four steals, two assists and two rebounds in an 86-81 overtime loss at Boston University. He scored 11 of his points in the second half as the Black Knights overcame a 22-point deficit to force overtime and accounted for seven of Army’s nine points in overtime. He followed that with a 25-point performance in a 77-71 win at Loyola. He was 9-for-10 from the free throw line, including four straight in the final 20 seconds to help preserve the victory.

Wilson is averaging a team-best 19.7 points per game, including 21.2 points per game during Patriot League play. He ranks second in the conference overall and leads the Patriot League during conference action.

The honor is Wilson’s second of the season. He is the first Army player to be named Patriot League Player of the Week twice in the same season since Jarrell Brown during the 2007-08 campaign.

Army opens a two-game homestand Wednesday night when it hosts Lehigh. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at Christl Arena. The game can be viewed live online at www.patriotleague.tv.
