DALLAS - Fresh off the winningest season in program history, the Army baseball team received votes in the final National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) national poll, it was announced by the organization on Tuesday. The Black Knights were one of just 44 programs to receive votes in the final listing.

Army (41-15) set or tied 45 team, individual or freshman Academy records this spring en route capturing to the Patriot League tournament title and accompanying NCAA Regional berth. The Black Knights, who cracked the rankings for the first time in program history in late April, received votes in 11 polls during the 2012 season.

Army cruised to the Patriot League regular-season title, going 18-2 in the conference. The top-seeded Black Knights then swept fourth-seeded Lafayette in the conference tournament semifinals before dispatching second-seeded Holy Cross in three games to claim their sixth Patriot League tournament crown.

Army went on to compete at the NCAA Charlottesville Regional, bowing to eventual regional champion Oklahoma in a 10-inning thriller, 2-1. The Black Knights had three players collect a total of five All-America certificates, and three members of the squad earned All-Northeast Region plaudits.
