Seven Baseball Players Collect Academic Accolades

CENTER VALLEY, Pa.  - Seven members of the Army baseball team were among the 60 players who were honored when the Patriot League released its Baseball Academic Honor Roll.

To be eligible for the Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and complete for the one of the Patriot League's winter or spring championship sports.

Recently commissioned second lieutenants Connor Love and Patrick Mescher led the Army contingent, the fourth straight year the two have been honored. Junior Daniel Cortes  collected his second certificate.

Junior Brian Hapeman, sophomore Justin Reece and freshmen Daniel Caniano and Alex Dickerson collected their first accolade.

Army finished the season 33-18 and won a share of the Patriot League regular season championship with a 15-5 mark.

This season marked Army's eighth regular season title.

Army has won at least 30 games six times in the past 11 years.
