TAMPA, Fla. - Day 2 of Army track & field's trip to Tampa is just about over so it's time to recap! The day was relatively light, so I figured I would fill in the silence with a photo gallery of the past two days at USF. See the link above.

Our day started off with a little bit of the standard motel breakfast buffet at 8 a.m., before heading to practice at 8:30. After we loaded up on bagels, fruit and fresh waffles, we took the 5 minute drive down the street to USF to get the workouts in.

I took off for a run around the USF campus which is huge and gorgeous. Note to West Point landscapers - get some water fountains! Oh, and a Starbucks (Army SID Ryan Yanoshak will be the first to sign the petition)! I realize neither of those fit in with the architectural theme of the Military Academy, but it's worth a shot.

After practice and some lunch, the motel pool was the place to be. With temperatures in the low 80s and not too many clouds, our sun-deprived New York-living bodies got a bronzing. Event groups broke off intermittently for their afternoon workout sessions, while other athletes met up with family and friends in the area or even hit the books in study hall.

Once again, everyone dispersed for dinner with the coaching and staff group hitting a Greek place a couple miles away. We got back to the hotel relatively early to rest up for one of our busiest days of the week! On tap tomorrow: an early morning workout, lunch, possibly a trip to Clearwater, dinner and then a wheelchair basketball game against some Wounded Warriors. Check back tomorrow night for the full recap!
