BOSTON, Mass. – Army’s indoor track and field season will continue this weekend at the ECAC and IC4A Championships as qualified athletes will begin competition Saturday morning at the Boston University Track and Field Pavilion. Events are scheduled to run through Sunday afternoon as the Black Knights will send 19 men and seven women to compete in 17 events. Through the Patriot League Championships on Feb. 17, Army athletes recorded 28 individual qualifying marks while achieving relay standards in all three distances.
The men’s weight throw will begin Army’s presence at the meet as Nick Snoad and Scott Geary will start things off at 10 a.m., on Saturday morning. The Black Knights will hit the track shortly thereafter, as seniors Thomas Ryan and Kyler Martin will vie for qualifying times in the 60-meter hurdles trial rounds. The Army men have qualified athletes in the mile, 400-meter dash, 500m, 800m and 1,000-meter run before a trio of relay trials complete their first day of competition.
The Army women will lead off at 3p.m., in the 60-meter hurdles as Patriot League champion Kaitlyn Love will make her first career showing at the indoor ECAC Championships. Freshman Megan Gemar will go off simultaneously in one of two field events on the day for the Army women, as Gemar qualified in the pole vault. Senior McKenzie Majchrzak will compete in the high jump at 3:30 p.m.
Also scheduled to run on Saturday for the women are sophomores Katrina Donarski (500m) and Lisa Junta. Junta recorded qualifying times in the mile, 3,000-meter run and 5,000m this season, but is just slated to compete in the 3,000m and 5,000m, with Saturday’s race being the 5K. Junta captured both the 3K and 5K Patriot League titles two weeks ago en route to being named the Track Performer of the Meet. Junta’s recognitions continued this week as she was tabbed the Scholar-Athlete of the Year for indoor track and field.
The Army women will also run the 4x400 relay on Saturday, as Love and Donarski will be joined by senior Ashley Gordon and freshman Haley Winters.

Last season’s ECAC and IC4As were highlighted by Taylor Kensy’s Army record-setting performance in the 500-meter dash. Kensy snapped a 29-year old record with his runner-up performance.
The ECAC and IC4A Championships mark the final event on Army’s indoor schedule this season. The Black Knights’ next team meet will be the All-Academy Championships, scheduled for March 22-23 in Miami, Fla.
