WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army track and field team will head to New York City this Friday as the Black Knights are set to compete in the NYU Team Challenge Meet at the New Balance Track and Field Center at the Armory. The team-scoring meet is set to begin at 11:30 a.m. with men and women’s 60-meter hurdles. For a full list of events, see below.
The Black Knights are coming off a successful weekend at the Battle of Beantown, which included five IC4A-qualifying performances on the men’s side and an ECAC Championship height for the women. In addition, four Army teammates made their way into the record books, including sophomore Taylor Andrews who ran for a time of 8.18 in the 60-meter hurdles. Women field athletes, sophomore Justine Rennekamp, sophomore Amy Slaughter and junior Laurel Neposchlan were also record book worthy as they etched their names in the academy record book for the shot put, weight throw and pole vault, respectively.
Following the trip to The Armory, Army will gear up for the annual indoor Star Meet with rival Navy. This year’s meet will take place at Navy’s Ingram Field on Feb. 1. The women’s meet is slated for an 11 a.m., start and will be followed by the men’s competition which kicks off at 2 p.m.
