PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Army track and field concluded its three-day stay at the 118th running of the Penn Relays with a successful Saturday at Franklin Field. Senior Fred Beebe began the day in impressive fashion. Beebe placed second in the triple jump Eastern Division, which featured a field of 20, by recording a leap of 15.02 meters. The distance ranks tied for seventh all-time on Army’s outdoor top-10 list.

Junior Nick Snoad followed in the hammer throw’s College Championship, earning sixth place of nine entrants with his toss of 60.66 meters. Snoad, who has crept up Army’s historical hammer throw list all season, landed at No. 7 after his latest toss. Senior Matt Dillon competed in the College Division, placing 18th of 18 with a throw of 48.80m.

Freshman Jacob Drozd rounded out the field events for the Black Knights, placing 20th of 25 in the College Division of the javelin with his throw of 55.58 meters.

Army competed in two relays on the day – the men’s and women’s 4x800. The women’s unit, consisting of freshman Katrina Donarski and Jennifer Comfort, sophomore Allie Sutherland and senior Shalela Dowdy, recorded the fourth-fastest time in Academy history with their time of 9:05.47. The ECAC Championship-qualifying finish ranked sixth of 21 teams.
