CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -
Army senior diving standout Chris Nguyen was selected as the Patriot League Male Diver of the Week for the sixth time this season, it was announced by the conference office on Monday.
Nguyen tied the Patriot League record after winning the award four weeks in a row. The Cheshire, Conn., product is just the third diver in the history of the conference to accomplish the feat, joining Navy's Olaf Olson (2010-11) and Kevin Teague (2003-04, 2006-07).
Nguyen has been honored as the Patriot League Male Diver of the Week 16 times during his decorated career. His six awards this year are just one shy of tying the conference's single-season record, which was established by Teague during the 2005-06 campaign.
Nguyen won the three-meter diving event during Army's dual meet versus Navy last Thursday, racking up an Army-Navy dual meet record score of 381.60 points in winning by nearly 40 markers. He also placed runner-up off the one-meter board, posting a score of 345.90 points.
The Army swimming and diving teams return to action on Thursday, Jan. 3, when the Black Knights travel to San Juan, Puerto Rico, to compete at the San Juan Invitational.
