CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Army swimming and diving combined for 28 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll certificates, the conference office announced Tuesday. Fourteen cadet-athletes were recognized from both Army’s men’s and women’s teams.
To be eligible for the Spring Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn at least a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League’s winter or spring championship sports.
A total of 149 women and 124 men were recognized on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. Three Black Knights earned a GPA of 4.0 or better including sophomores Natalie Beale (4.06) and Austin Kong (4.00) and freshman Eric Tatum (4.04). Beale’s 4.06 GPA was the highest among the Patriot League’s female student-athletes, while Tatum’s 4.04 GPA was the highest among the conference’s male student-athletes.
The Army men’s swimming and diving program went 9-3 overall and 7-1 in the Patriot League, finishing second at the Patriot League Championships on Feb. 22. The women’s team posted a 6-6 overall record, while going 4-4 against conference opponents and finishing fourth at the Patriot League Championships. Junior divers Josh Urnezis and Zachary Woods each qualified for the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events at the NCAA Zone “A” Championships from March 10-12.
