WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Army swimming and diving teams return to competition this weekend (Jan. 11-12) when the Black Knights travel to Pennsylvania for a pair of Patriot League dual meets. Army will face Lehigh on Friday at 5 p.m., before battling Bucknell on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Friday's meet will be contested inside Jacobs Pool on the campus of Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa. Saturday's dual will be hosted inside Kinney Natatorium on the campus of Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa. It will mark the first of three trips to Bucknell for the Black Knights, as the team will return twice in February for the Bison Invitational (Feb. 2) and the Patriot League Championships (Feb. 21-23).

The Army men begin the weekend showing a 5-2 record, while the Black Knight women boast a 4-4 mark. Both teams are 0-1 in the Patriot League after being swept by Navy on Dec. 6.

Army recently returned from its annual winter training trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Black Knights turned in an impressive showing at the Copa Coqui near the end of the trip, winning the overall combined team title.

Freshman Chris Szekely won the 100 free and placed second in the 50 free to pace the Army men at the meet. Freshman Molly Mucciarone took gold in the 100 fly to lead the Black Knight women.

The Lehigh men, who have been idle since defeating NJIT (142-63) on Dec. 1, show a 3-1 overall record. The Mountain Hawks are a perfect 2-0 versus Patriot League foes, having knocked off Colgate and Lafayette earlier this season. The Lehigh women have not competed in a dual meet since defeating Lafayette on Nov. 16. The Mountain Hawks are 1-2 overall and 1-1 opposite conference teams.

The Bucknell men (4-3, 2-1 PL) begin the weekend by hosting Colgate on Friday morning. The Bison began the second semester by dropping a 209-91 decision at Columbia last Saturday. The Bucknell women (3-4, 2-1 PL) fell to Columbia, 190.5-108.5, last Saturday. The Bison will face Colgate on Friday morning before welcoming Army to Kinney Natatorium.

The Army men are a perfect 41-0 all-time versus Lehigh. The Black Knights are also 21-5 all-time opposite Bucknell. The Army women, meanwhile, are 13-5 all-time against the Mountain Hawks and 4-15 all-time versus the Bison. The Black Knights swept Lehigh last season at West Point. Both Army squads suffered losses to Bucknell.

Following this weekend's action, Army will travel to Delaware next Friday, Jan. 18. The following day, the Black Knights will make the trek to Fairfax, Va., to face George Mason and Patriot League foe American.
